The Big Island is the youngest of the inhabited Hawaiian islands and is one of our personal favorites. It is most famous for it’s active volcano Kilauea located inside of Volcano National Park. Mauna Kea is another of Hawaii’s highlights. Sacred to the Hawaiian people, this dormant volcano is 13,803ft above sea level making it one of the best places in the world to experience the night sky. The Big Island is home to many different climate zones and vast variety of landscapes. Lava Rock, white, green and black sand beaches, and lush rainforests are just some of what you will find on this island approximately the size of Connecticut. There are endless activities and ways to explore Hawaii - the Big Island.
